Pick Fresh

We’re Open

We have serious concerns about the weather and how our annual plants will handle leaving the growers warm greenhouses. This spring has been chilly, windy and wet with less than normal amounts of sunshine. Our bees have survived our horrible winter, both hives have lots of activity.  The strawberries that we planted last fall are greening up and looking good. We are recovering one greenhouse that was shredded by last weeks windy weather.  The gusting winter winds and falling branches pushed down lots of fencing, so many fence posts will need replacing to keep the deer out of the fields. When we add these tasks to our schedule of plowing, seeding and preparing the farm for all our crops it means we will be very busy. Just the way we like to be after a long winter off. If the weather really does delay our opening it will only be by a few days, hopefully. We know that our customers are looking for beautiful baskets for Mother’s Day and we will be ready.
